  • FIPADOC | Deux projets Lucid Realities sélectionnés

    Le FIPADOC, festival international documentaire, réunit public et professionnels autours d’une sélection d’œuvres d’exception. Le festival sélectionne chaque année plus d’une centaines de films documentaires de tout types sous toutes ses formes notamment VR, conçut pour tous les écrans et accueillant toutes les écritures. Le FIPADOC organise sept compétitions différentes dont la catégorie SMART où a été nominé l’expérience VR CLAUDE MONET, The Water Lily obsession et le projet One Gram au LAB IMPACT.

    Le SMART, espace consacré par le festival aux expériences numériques documentaires offre l’opportunité de découvrir des œuvres qui utilisent les nouvelles technologies pour raconter le réel. Des œuvres documentaires interactives, en Réalité Virtuelle (VR), en Réalité Augmentée (AR), des web-séries, des contenus natifs pour smartphone, tablette ou ordinateur… autant de propositions innovantes pour ouvrir le public à d’autres pratiques que la salle de cinéma ou le petit écran.Grâce à un dialogue entre Claude Monet et Georges Clemenceau, cette expérience VR invite à un voyage sensoriel initié dans le jardin de Monet, s’arrêtant en chemin dans l’atelier de l’artiste et aboutissant au musée de l’Orangerie. Revivez le cycle de la nature en explorant le temps et l’espace, en immersion dans ’’Les Nymphéas’’.

    Le LAB IMPACT du FIPADOC est une formation à destination de duo de producteurs. Pendant deux jours, juste avant l’ouverture du festival, les cinq ou six projets sélectionnés bénéficieront d’un encadrement sur mesure et d’outils développés par Good Pitch et mis à disposition de la communauté actuellement la plus sophistiquée en matière d’approches d’impact. En utilisant l’AR pour expliquer des réalités politiques, économiques et techniques complexes, ONE GRAM, d’une façon radicalement innovante, de découvrir le lien entre nos smartphones et les conditions dramatiques dans lesquelles vivent et travaillent les mineurs du Congo. 

     

  • TAIWAN TODAY | NPM ties up with Orangerie Museum, Louvre, Tate Modern on new media art exhibition

    A new media-curated exhibition comprising pieces from institutions in Taiwan, Czech Republic, France, Germany and the U.K. kicked off at National Palace Museum’s Southern Branch Dec. 17 in Chiayi County.

    Running until March 26 next year, “A Carnival of Fantasies: A Special Exhibition of 21st Century Museums” features popular exhibits from Taipei City-based NPM; Mucha Foundation, Czech Republic; Louvre and Orangerie museums, France; Alte Nationalgallery, Germany; and Tate Modern, the U.K. Two our experiences will be available  Claude Monet – The water Lily Obsession by Nicolas Thépot (Lucid Realities : Excecutive Producer) and The Monk by the Sea by Michael Robbins and Harmke Heezen will also be available at the National Palace Museum (Executive producer: Gebrueder beetz filmproduktion/International distributor: Lucid Realities).

    The four sections are Aesthetic World, NPM Voyage, River of Time and The Louvre Station. AM showcases world-famous artworks via new media devices; NPMV, calligraphies and traditional ink-wash paintings at virtual reality installations; RT, projections of all exhibition pieces; and TLS, Leonardo Da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” using a VR gallery.

    NPM Director Wu Mi-cha said the event is an exciting opportunity to utilize cutting-edge technology in sharing some of the world’s finest artworks with locals. It also builds closer ties between NPM and other leading institutions while helping attract more visitors to the Southern Branch, he added.

    Since opening in December 2015, NPMSB has proven popular with lovers of Asian art from home and abroad. On Dec. 7, the facility broke the 1 million visitor mark—a milestone underscoring the success of government efforts to provide more opportunities for cultural enrichment in the south of the country.

    NPM, established in 1965, is the world’s largest treasure house of Chinese imperial art, boasting nearly 700,000 antiquities covering 7,000 years from the prehistoric Neolithic period to the end of the Qing dynasty (1644-1911). (RAY-E)

  • Two VR experiences, distributed by LR, displayed at the National Palace Museum in Taïwan

    The exhibition « A Carnival of Fantasies: A Special Exhibition of 21 st Century Museums at the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum » is opening on the 17th of December in Taïwan. Its conception comes from a prestigious partnership between  The Louvre Museum, The Tate Modern, The Orangerie Museum, The Alte Nationalgalerie and The Mucha Foundation. HTC VIVE ART is also an actor of the deal and it’s the fourth time that NPM works in collaboration with them. The NPM’s objective is to promote digital creation and artistic innovation, bringing the spectator into virtual realms. The event will gather a VR, AR and MR competition and an exhibition of renowned multimedia artworks. Among these virtual experiences, the public will have the opportunity to try Claude Monet – The water Lily Obsession by Nicolas Thépot (Lucid Realities : Excecutive Producer). The Monk by the Sea by Michael Robbins and Harmke Heezen will also be available at the National Palace Museum (Executive producer: Gebrueder beetz filmproduktion/International distributor: Lucid Realities).

     

     

  • ONE GRAM selected at IDFA Doclab Forum 2019

    We are glad to announce that our brand new AR project « One Gram » by Karim Ben Khelifa (The Enemy) has been selected to the pitching session at the IDFA DocLab Forum from 24th to 26th November 2019 in Amsterdam. The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam offers an independent and inspiring meeting place for audiences and professionals to see a diverse and high-quality program. Since 2007, the festival’s New Media program IDFA DocLab showcases the best interactive non-fiction storytelling and explores how the digital revolution is reshaping documentary art. The experience « One Gram », produced by Lucid Realities and France Televisions, aims to bring the Democratic Republic of Congo’s tragedy straight to the smartphone that its mineral resources helped make via an AR app on both IOS and Android Systems.

  • Showcase of « Claude Monet – The Water Lily obsession » at The Jeju Museum in South Korea

    The South korean Jeju Museum, which is directed by Choi Jeong-Ju celebrates the 10th Anniversary of its overseas art displays by holding two exhibitions from 18th October 2019 to 7th February 2020. Our experience Claude Monet – The Water Lily obsession is showcased as part of the « Digital Encounters with the Artists of European Modernism ». This innovative exhibition offers the opportunity to appreciate and discover masterpieces of the leading European artists – such as Monet, Cezanne, Van Gogh and Gauguin – through the use of new technologies. Composed of four sections (a Smart TV Zone, a VR Zone, a Media Art Zone and a Photo Zone), it involves the five senses of the visitors and bring modernity and novelty into the entire concept of what a traditional museum is.

    The other exhibition of the Jeju Museum is entitled « French Modern : from Monet to Matisse, 1850-1950 » and gathers artworks of Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cezanne, Edgar Degas, Henri Matisse, Jean-François Millet and Marc Chagall. The 45 paintings and 63 sculptures are divided into four sections: landscapes, still-life paintings, portrait sculptures and nude painting. It’s the first time that these pieces (loaned by the Brooklyn Museum of New York) are showcased in Korea.

  • LR entered into a distribution agreement with VeeR

    We are glad to announce that Lucid Realities has signed a new distribution and operating agreement with the VR entertainment platform VeeR for two VR experiences of our line-up :  Claude Monet – The Water Lily Obsession and Mozart 360. VeeR is a company based in China that promote innovation and creativity by offering thousands of immersive, AR and VR videos on this platform. The company has opened more than 5 VR cinemas and has plans to expand to more locations in China by 2020. By bringing VR to a mainstream audience online and offline.

    Claude Monet – The Water Lily obsession will be available through VeeR application all around the world except in France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Monaco, Andorra, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg. VeeR will also carry on the distribution in location-based in China. Concerning Mozart 360, the project will be accessible worldwide through VeeR application.

  • Official selection at 2019 Stereopsia Festival

    Our project « Claude Monet – The Water Lily obsession » has been nominated to be part of the official selection of the Awards competition of the STEREOPSIA Festival.

    This international event, taking place in Brussels from December 11th 2019 to December 13th 2019,  is dedicated to all forms of 3D / XR / AI. It features a series of top-notch conferences, panels with international experts, exhibition and demos, networking opportunities, and awards. The festival is organized in close collaboration with the Hollywood-based Advanced Imaging Society and its EMEA Chapter, and it bestows their prestigious Lumiere Awards to exceptional 3D and 3D VR content makers.

    « Claude Monet-The Water Lily obsession » has also been chosen to be screened at BOZAR from December 12th 2019 to December 13th 2019 during the Stereopsia event.

  • Lucid Realities attends the 2019 Kaohsiung film festival

    We are really proud to announce that our experience « Claude Monet – The Water Lily obsession » has been selected at Kaohsiung Film Festival. This event will be held from October 18th 2019 to November 3th 2019 in Taïwan. Kaohsiung Film Festival (KFF) is one of the biggest film festival in Taiwan and known for its fantasy-oriented curation and willingness of embracing new technology. In 2017, KFF started its first VR program to showcase outstanding local and international VR experiences. In 2018, VR Competition, panel talks, workshops, and more events are held annually during the festival. KFF has become the biggest VR event of the country and a lively platform for both local and international VR professionals.

    Chloé Jarry’s conference:

    Chloé Jarry, the CEO of Lucid Realities will also take part in a conference on October 10th about  » History Reapperance – Digital Technology Applies in Art and Education ». The panel will also be composed by Jérémy Pouilloux and James Quo-Ping Lin (Director General, Department of Cultural Creativity, National Palace Museum, Taiwan).

  • Accord de distribution entre LR et MK2 VR sur l’offre VR Play

    Les deux expériences VR « 1, 2, 3… Bruegel! » et « Claude Monet – L’Obsession des nymphéas » feront désormais partie de l’offre VR Play commercialisée par MK2 VR

    Chaque samedi et chaque dimanche matin, MK2 VR présente dans son espace près de la bibliothèque François Mitterrand un ensemble d’expériences à destination du jeune public. Parmi elles, vous pourrez trouver, à partir du 5 octobre 2019, le jeu VR 1, 2, 3… Bruegel !, une expérience ludique et éducationnelle créée par Gordon & Andrés Jarach et coproduite par Arte France (Collection Arte Trips) & Camera lucida productions et dont les droits de distribution ont été confiés à Lucid Realities. Dans cette aventure immersive à l’intérieur du tableau Jeux d’enfants de Pieter Bruegel l’Ancien, vous aurez pour mission de retrouver tous les enfants cachés afin de reconstituer la célèbre peinture.

     

    Claude Monet – L’Obsession des nymphéas, expérience VR créee par Nicolas Thépot, est quant à elle présentée dans la programmation grand public de la même salle depuis le 23 septembre toute la journée en semaine et le week-end à partir de 13h. Ce projet – qui avait bénéficié d’une exposition de 5 mois au Musée de l’Orangerie – a remporté de nombreux prix en festivals dont un VivePort Developer Award, un Silver Muse Award décerné par l’American Alliance of Museum (2019 – New Orleans) et le Grand Prix PiXii au Festival « Sunny Side of the Doc » (2019 – La Rochelle).

  • Off The Wall (FR) selected at CPH:LAB 2019/2020

    9 new, international immersive documentary projects have been selected for CPH:DOX’s talent development and training programme, CPH:LAB. A total of 104 projects were submitted. Since 2009, the lab has been seeking to advance new visions of what a documentary can be. With an expanded focus, the lab is now exploring the potential of interactive and immersive digital technologies, integrating alternative business strategies and cross-sector partnerships in a new approach to develop stories in the digital age.

    Throughout the years, CPH:LAB has established itself as an acknowledged and ambitious, yet playful laboratory-style talent scheme showing great results, including the projects from last year, which are now traveling the world.

    Among others ‘Nerd_Funk’ by Ali Eslami and Mamala Shafahi pitched at IDFA’s Crossmedia Forum and was later commissioned by Netherlands Film Fund and IDFA DocLab; ‘Prison X’ by Violeta Ayala, Olivia Barron and Camila Claros pitched at IDFA Forum and selected for the first-ever Sundance Talent Forum in January alongside ‘Breathe’ by Diego Galafassi, Lisa Holmqvist and Jesper Kurlandsky. Later this month, Vibeke Bryld and Maria Kristensen’s ‘Hush’ and ‘Captured’ by Hanna Haaslahti and Alap Parikh will be presented at Venice Gap-Financing Market.

    These and other prototypes developed within the lab have a.o. been supported by public funding bodies such as DFI, SFI, AVEK as well as private investors and producers such as RYOT – a creative arm of Verizon Media, Khora VR, Magic Leap and Venice VR Grand Prize-winning studio AtlasV.

    From September 13-20, 2019, this year’s 21 participants will meet for the first residential workshop in Copenhagen. Head of Studies, Mark Atkin, will lead the professional team of mentors, among whom are Arts and Digital Programmer of Tate Modern, Jonathan May (UK); Art Director at Montreal’s immersive experience film and gaming studio Dpt., Maude Thibodeau (CA); award-winning immersive Theatre Director and Experience Designer, Annette Mees, (UK); and Vassiliki Khonsari (US) Director, Producer and Co-Founder of Sundance, Tribeca and Facebook’s Game of the Year winning studio iNK Stories.

    A multi-users and stand-alone VR installation where users are immerged into a world of walls and frontiers. The VR experience will be in 3D animation, using archives for reconstruction and giving the project this symbolic vision of the walls. The experience is conceived to be part of an innovative type of exhibition format.
